Phase 4

PROJECT BACKGROUND:

The Inter-Agency Council for the Pasig River Urban Development [ IAC-PRUD ] was established to spearhead the rehabilitation of the Pasig River, its tributaries and adjacent communities with the goal of improving environmental quality and enhancing the overall livability of areas along its banks. The IAC-PRUD is led by the Presidential Adviser for Pasig River Rehabilitation [ OPAPRR ], Jose Rizalino L. Acuzar, who is tasked to ensure the efficient, effective and timely implementation of the Pasig River rehabilitation through inter-agency coordination and private sector cooperation. The initiative aims to transform the Pasig River into a vibrant, pedestrian-centric urban corridor.

The project focuses on three core pillars:

  • Urban Renewal : Integrating functional, sustainable design to enhance the quality of life for Metro Manila residents.
  • Economic Growth : Stimulating local economies by creating a world-class destination for visitors and businesses.
  • Heritage Preservation : Advancing river rehabilitation while protecting the cultural and historical significance of the waterway.

By prioritizing environmentally responsible practices and community needs, the IAC-PRUD seeks to set a new standard for urban development and ecological restoration in the capital.
